Day 8

Although this isn't posted until the 9th, it *was* taken on the 8th on my way to work:

Let's just say it was an...interesting...drive into the office. Roads were NOT fun.

Weather!

Man, I hate the Michigan winters. My drive to work normally takes about 50 minutes. However, this morning the remnants of a snowstorm was still on the roads. So instead of being able to go 70+mph, I was limited to about 40mph for the majority of the trip. It ended up taking me about 1.5 hours to get to work. Ugh. I *really* need to consider moving to Arizona...

Familar Strangers...?

When you drive the same route every day, you tend to notice some of the same cars. There's a White Ford Focus with an environmental company decal on it. There's also a car with the license plate OSIEPE. I looked it up on Google. It means "friends" in Dhuluo. I'm guessing that's one of the languages in Kenya, because the website mentions the Kenyan people.
I've also seen a car with a decal on the back window, "In Loving Memory of Larry D. Evans". Of course, that's almost impossible to find info on, but I thought it was interesting anyway.
The strange thing is I don't recall seeing any familiar cars on the way HOME. I'd think that even if I don't see the same cars in the evening that I do in the morning, I should still see the same group of cars going home every day. Weird...

People are Strange...

I'm trying to understand what goes on in the minds of some people on the road(futile, I know). I have a 63 mile one-way commute, so I occasionally see some weird stuff. Yesterday on the way home on westbound I-94, I'm in the fast lane doing about 80. I see a lady coming up behind me going faster, so I move over to let her go by. She doesn't go by - she slows down. Since I'm now coming up on traffic, I move back into the left lane. This chick speeds up and sits on my bumper. I figured ok, she's just being weird, and doesn't want to pass. With the ebb and flow of the traffic, we both have to slow down and speed up. But she always catches up to less than a car length behind me, no matter what speed. We come up on slower traffic in the fast lane and she goes to the right lane to get around. Unfortunately, she couldn't complete the move before she's forced to slow down, so now she gets behind me again. Since she now seems to want to pass, I clear over when I get a chance. This time it takes a little longer for me to find a break in traffic, but again I move over to let her pass. You guessed it - she slows to stay behind me. I move back into the fast lane to get around slower traffic and she's right behind me again, now at 85. This 'dance occured one or two more times. She never passed me until she got to her exit. What the HELL...?

Dark blue Buick Rendezvous with Michigan plates. Maybe I should start posting the plates of the weirdos out there...?
